# Amazon Products: Meltable Inventory

## Overview

**Meltable Inventory** refers to products with a high risk of melting during shipping and storage. These products are typically made of ingredients that can easily melt or change state when exposed to high temperatures. Some examples of Amazon meltables include chocolate, wax, and certain types of cosmetics.

Amazon has a restriction on meltable inventory to ensure that these products are properly stored and shipped to prevent any damage due to high temperatures during transit. Every year between **April 15** and **October 15,** Amazon will not fulfill the meltable inventory, and by that time, you shouldn’t have any left in the fulfillment centers.

Client Setting **Enable FBA Meltable Product Workflow** must be enabled for this workflow. To enable the setting, navigate to **Settings** > **Client Settings** > **General Client Settings**.

## Configure Meltable Products

You can mark items as **Meltable** individually or in bulk.

On the **Manage Catalog** page, there is a Custom Filter **IsMeltable.** You can use this filter for [Saved Searches](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630838405969463824) or to add your SKUs to [Product Groups](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630846170721477604) for efficient management.

### Individually

1. Navigate to **Catalog** > Open a **product**.
2. **Toolbox** > **Amazon Properties**.
3. Click **Edit**.
4. Go to the General Panel and select **Is Meltable** checkbox.
5. Click **Save**.

### In Bulk

To mark items as meltable in bulk via file import, navigate to:

1. **Catalog** > **Tools** > **Import Product Info**.
2. **Bulk Product Update** > Click on **Generate Template** > **Create New Template**.
3. Select the file format between **Excel**/ **CSV**/ **Tab Delimited**.
4. Add the column **IsMeltableProduct**.
5. Click on **Next** and **Download** the template.

6. Populate the fields and save the template.
7. Go back to Sellercloud and select the newly created template.
8. Click on **Upload**.

## Meltable Products on FBA Shipments

If the **IsMeltable** checkbox is enabled for a product, it triggers an error upon the creation of an [FBA Inbound Shipment](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630837133244917471). The error message specifically points out the presence of meltable inventory within the shipment. It's important to note that meltable SKUs are subject to restrictions and cannot be included in FBA shipments between April 15 and October 15.

When you attempt to create an **FBA Shipment** using a file import and include products that have the **IsMeltable** feature enabled, an error message will appear. On the other hand, if you [Import an FBA Shipment from Amazon](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630837044189005924) that already includes meltable products, there won't be any errors.

## Meltable Products on Predictive Restocking for FBA

If a product is marked as Meltable, it would not show up on your **FBA Predictive Restocking report** from **April 15th** to **October 15th**. You can add a filter to search for meltable products in the [Predictive FBA Restocking](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630842058230731209) page.

1. Navigate to **Purchasing** > **Tools** > **Predictive FBA Restocking**.
2. Click on **Add filter** and search for **Exclude Meltable Products**.

The **Exclude Meltable Products** filter is available for both the [Enhanced FBA Restocking Report](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630842058230731209) and [Predictive Restocking for FBA](https://descartessystems.aha.io/pages/7630842058230731209).
